I'm NOT saying you should allow yourself to be walked over by any client that comes through your door. You have to use your discretion.
But getting offended so easily over any little client mistake - that's not how to build a successful long lasting clientele base.
A successful client book is built on trust, understanding, and empathy - both ways.
I also see a lot of yall out here getting mad at clients for rescheduling when YOU are the biggest offender.
You can't hold your clients to a higher standard than you hold yourself. You need to be professional and stick to your appointment schedule.
Yes we are free to make our own schedule but you're also beholden to your clients and you have to respect the fact that they schedule their day/week around that appointment too.

And this is coming from a 40 year old, who has been lashing for 9 years. In the last couple years I've noticed when I've worked all day on my computer, or on my phone, or have lashed a model, and then I go home and try to read a book, my eye sight struggles to focus. This was never the case in my younger years.
So I started asking questions. Did lashing damage my eyes??? The answer I found is, a clear no.
One thing I do recommend is magnification. Every set every time. It REDUCES eye strain, it does the heavy lifting for you.
Use prescription readers, or professional Loupes. Not the stuff you get on Amazon. Get the real thing that is made for YOUR eyes. That's how you reduce eye strain and make it more comfortable for yourself long term.
I've literally been going through this - it's been on my mind for the last couple weeks.
There's not a lot of distance between personal me, and work me. That's because I love what I do, I love the company I work for, I love the audience that we are in service to, and I believe we make a difference in peoples lives.
I'm one of the lucky ones that doesn't hate their work, and I know many of you are in the same position. I'm so grateful that you're all here and we have this incredible industry that has brought us together and made our dreams come true.
Keep at it. Keep working hard. It pays off.

This isn't holiday related but I feel the need to help stop the fear based marketing I've seen recently.
If you see a piece of content on the internet, and it makes you feel scared, more than likely, the author is trying to sell you something.
Pro tip: once you feel that strong emotion, take a beat, let it settle, then go find more information. Find the other side of the story because I can guarantee you they're leaving out the information that doesn't fit their narrative.
I want better for our industry.
