The Quality of Beliefs

Think of one belief about yourself / your abilities that is keeping you stuck with your goals in life.

Then, ask yourself these 8 questions;

1. Why am I choosing to believe this about myself?

2. What are some ways that this belief might not be true?

3. What are some ways that this belief may be true?

4. How would I show up in my life, if I didn’t have this belief?

5. What are the benefits to having this belief?

6. What are the costs to having these belief?

7. What is stopping me from believing the opposite?

8. What is stopping me from continuing to believe the same?

Chances are, if you made it this far, you have already experienced just how taxing this belief has been in your life.

The beauty about beliefs, is that they are just thoughts that we have rehearsed over and over again until we have decided they are “facts”. Just as they have been programmed in our brain, they can also be unprogrammed.

The quality of our beliefs determine the quality of our lives.

When I ask “why are you feeling that way?”

And my client says “it’s because of what I’m thinking”…

*🥹🥹🥹 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I can’t contain my excitement!*

So smart and resourceful!

When we give ourselves agency over our own emotional livelihood, we regain so much of the power that we subconsciously handed freely to others.

Mindset is EVERYTHING.

In 2017, I was compelled to commit to a process that I was completely unfamiliar with… training for a body building competition.

At that time, my life was fruitful, yet still.

Everything in my core desired for a challenge…Something that would grow me emotionally, physically and mentally.

Something I never thought was accessible to me before, suddenly became the thing I wanted the most (at that time).

This was NOT an easy process. What kept me committed was that I believed so strongly that… ⁣

No matter what the outcome may be, 𝘐 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘪𝘵.

⚫️ This had me show up to every single workout 5X a week, 2 hours per session.

⚫️ This had me hire and invest in the right people/equipment to to give me the best results.

⚫️ This had me look at my nutrition / diet and learn how to prepare meals to optimize my gains.

⚫️ This has me research different excercises to target different muscle groups and ensure proper/safe form.

⚫️ Most importantly, this had me practice self-care, as I witnessed myself push my body, my mind and soul to new limits for the next 32 months.

As I reflect on this experience from 5 years ago, I can’t help but think how often many of us play so small (still me), because of beliefs that we have about about what it means to be successful.

When we believe we aren’t capable, we stop showing up for ourselves in the way required to continue to evolve into our higher selves.

We try to avoid the failures that are the prerequisites to our successes.

Even though I did not place that day… I felt like a winner, because I learned what it truly meant to harness the power of my mind.

And just like that, everything became possible.

Austin… it’s been real 🖤Thank you for the hospitality! This is my first time here, but def not my last!

I challenged myself to make it to the LCS mastermind this year, even if it meant I had to travel on my own!

I arrived with fear, trepidation, uncertainty and doubt. Today, I leave with a sense of deep gratitude, humbleness, courage and purpose. (Yes, the doubt/fear/uncertainty/trepidation are still there, they are just chillin’ in the backseat 😅)

What a privilege and honor it is to be able to go all in on yourself and your mission.

The Foundation for Relationships

A post about self-love, self-awareness and self management

Why is the relationship we have with ourselves so important?

Our capacity to love, forgive and understand others comes from us having modeled that within ourselves. When we have learned to accept our flaws with our strengths (humanhood), our willingness to also do that for others expands.

“Style tells the world what to think of you… and you what to think of you” - Tonya Leigh Mastermind 2022

Today, I choose to wear all white top/bottom, accented with a hot pink blazer (my power color) — when I wear hot pink, I chose to think powerful things, make powerful decision and create powerful results!

For example, like flying to Austin all by myself so I could show up to this inspirational event today! I couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of this community, and more proud of myself for continuing to break out of my comfort zone. I am so moved by all the guest speakers, and I can’t wait to bring this energy into my practice

“Style tells the world what to think of you…and you what to think of you” - Tonya Leigh

Everyday, I make a conscious decision to a question “what statement do I want to make with my style today and why”?
