Day of the Dead, or Día de los Mu***os is a Mexican holiday where friends and family celebrate their loved ones by honoring them with altars (ofrendas) containing pictures, food, candles, candy sugar skulls (calaveras) and flowers.
It's popularity has spread with movies bringing it more recognition.

Our family spends this time reflecting on the importance of showing gratitude for our loved ones while they're alive and with us while honoring the memory of those we've lost with our favorite photos of them, preparing their favorite foods, listening to their favorite songs, and eating pan de Mu**to. We also attend city wide celebrations when we can to show respect to others and the ones they have loved and lost.

When was the first time you heard of this holiday? What does it mean to you and your family?

What are your plans for Día De Los Mu***os?
