Hello and welcome to the Salvadorii Farms Project! Thank you for helping us promote this fascinating monitor species!

We are working with Merauke, Jayapura, and Sorong localities of the "croc monitor" to provide cbb salvadorii babies to those FEW PEOPLE who can provide proper care and help promote these awesome monitors. Native to the rainforests of Papua New Guinea, the varanus salvadorii (aka "croc monitor") is facing growing threats to their native habitat due to deforestation, primarily from logging and land conversion for agriculture.

Mary is a Sorong female who lives with Barry. She definitely rules the enclosure, bossing Barry around as she pleases. Luckily he’s a sweetheart - we’ve seen him bring food to her and even wait to eat until she’s had her fill.

Lazy Larry 🥰. Larry is a Jayapura male of < 1 year and the sweetest boy. Most days, he can’t even be bothered to open his eyes when we enter the enclosure as napping is his first and most important priority. He lives with Sheri, a captive-born Jayapura female who is still quite small and skittish - but they seem to offer each other comfort, something we’ve noticed with all of our pairs and despite the fact that monitors overall are considered solitary creatures. 💚
