It was quite a season for Women’s Golf as both varsity teams swept the 26-6A District Tournament and sent two squads to regionals for the first time since 2019.

The Chaps won the Region IV championship to qualify for state and took home the program’s 5th state title. The win marked the first state championship since 2019 and the first under head coach Megan Cisneroz.

The Chaps are headed to the PGA High School National Invitational at Pinehurst in July.

We look back at an incredible 2025-2026 athletic year and give another shoutout to Men’s Golf on their 2026 6A State Championship.

How strong was District 26-6A at state? 26-6A golfers took 1st and 3rd place and 6 of the top 10 individuals were also from 26-6A.

Michael Rome became Westlake’s first Lifetime Chap to win a state title as both a player and a head coach when the program captured the 2025 championship. With the 2026 title, Coach Rome made more history as the only Lifetime Chap to win two titles as a player (2014/2017) and two as a coach (2025/2026).

Congratulations to freshman, Ripken Street, on his selection as the District 26-6A Newcomer of the Year. Ripken solidified the 3rd base position with a 95% fielding percentage while committing just three errors in 30 games played. He recorded 15 hits, scored 18 runs and added some incredible defensive plays during Westlake’s playoff run. We can’t wait to see what’s next.

Shoutout to seniors Austin Knox and Hayes Brodhead along with Lane Johnson and Mateo Rincon on their selection to the 26-6A All-District 1st Team.

Softball’s Eden Matt will represent Westlake at the 26th Annual Greater Austin Area All-Star Softball Game. Eden will play for the South Team on June 3rd at 7pm at Dripping Springs High School. Congratulations, Eden.

Impressive work both on the diamond and in the classroom as Softball has 15 Chaps on the 26-6A Academic All-District Team. Congratulations to the 13 players and managers Alexa Pettitt and Lexey Martin. Congratulations, ladies.

Softball has two outfielders on the 26-6A All-District 1st Team. Shoutout to Ati Avera and Kylie Jander. Kylie turned in a .379 batting average and Ati led the team with an impressive.408 batting average.

We head back to the softball diamond for more post season accolades as Kennedy Carlson and Lyric Labrecque earned spots on the 26-6A All-District 2nd Team. Kennedy hit for a .375 average while Lyric had an ERA of 2.40. Congratulations, Kennedy and Lyric!
