First Day of School Tips:

-Doors open at 7:15 am
Students will go straight to their classroom on the first day of school. PreK 4 students will meet their teachers in the cafeteria.

-The front circle drive will be for independent drop off only. Parents are asked to not get out of their car in the front drive. Use the side drive, parking lot, or side street parking to walk your child to the door.

-Please practice patience as we will all be working to learn the routine of arrival and dismissal.

Please follow all traffic laws, including: yielding to all street signs, crossing guards, and cross walks. And remember school zones are 20 mph and are phone free zones. Please plan ahead so that you are able to be extra cautious and extra patient as safety of our students and staff is always our top priority.

-Parents will be able to walk their child to the door. However, parents are NOT ALLOWED in the building during arrival and/or dismissal time for any reason. This is a district policy and is in place to help ensure the safety of all of our students. Please plan a quick goodbye once you get to school so that students can begin their day in the classroom!

-There will be a lot of staff members to support during drop off with walking students to class. Breakfast will be served in the classroom.

-Pick up time is 3:10 pm. Parents with car pickup will line up in a single file line on the side drive. Students will wait in the cafeteria.

-Walk up students will be in the front of the school for 1st - 5th.

PreK and Kinder will be picked up at their exterior doors. Contact your child's teacher with any questions.

Teachers will begin calling families today to introduce themselves as your child's teacher for the 24-25 school year. You will receive a phone call or email by the end of the day today about who your child's teacher is.

During meet the teacher on Friday, there will be a master list in the office for any student who does not know who their teacher is. We look forward to seeing everyone on Friday at Meet the Teacher from 11:30-12:30 PM.

We are very excited for school to start. Please review the arrival and dismissal procedures. As always, please give grace and patience as we navigate through the first few weeks.
Important Points:
- Please do not get out of your car in the front circle drive during arrival
-Please use crosswalks and be mindful of walkers
-The circle drive is ONLY FOR WALKERS during dismissal. Cars will not be allowed in the drive starting at 2:15 pm.

🎉 Martha Garza is our Austin ISD Café Manager of the Month for her dedication to serving Boone Elementary School.

We recognize Martha for her commitment to expanding healthy food access at Boone, as well as her ability to tackle new challenges with a positive attitude. Martha rolled out breakfast in the classroom at the beginning of 2024 with huge success. The program has nearly tripled breakfast participation at Boone! The increase in meals required Martha to expand her crew and grow her operation to meet production demands and maintain efficiency. Martha's warm smile and friendly demeanor have helped her form a strong relationship with the faculty and students. She deserves this recognition for passion to feed our kids and willingness to step up and shine like an AISD Food Service all-star!

Reconocemos a Martha por su compromiso con la expansión del acceso a alimentos saludables en Boone, así como por su capacidad para enfrentar nuevos desafíos con una actitud positiva. WHO: Boone Bear graduating High School Seniors - and their families!

WHAT: Boone Alumni Senior Walk

WHEN: Tuesday, May 21. 9:30 am assemble/line up. Walk the halls at 9:45 am to the cheers of 450 Boone Bear Students!!

WHERE: Boone Elementary School (8101 Croftwood Dr). Meet in CAFETERIA. Seniors who are still in AISD are fine to enter with their school ID. The office will need to provide visitor badges to all adults joining their student. You MUST have you ID to receive a visitor badge.

WHY: Memories, photos, parent tears, and gathering of elementary school friends to help get you ready to graduate!

HOW: Show up! Bring your adults. Wear your cap and gown!
