So many students have been pulling out all the stops on their final deadlines for college apps this week.
Hang in there and stay strong! You're in the home stretch!

Massive day today with score reports from the December 2nd SAT and early application notifications from Georgetown, Bowdoin, UVA, Brown, UGA, Carnegie Mellon, and a whole bunch more.
Hang in there, everybody!
Pro-tip to high school math students:
Memorize the unit circle.
At this point in your math career, it's like memorizing multiplication tables in 3rd grade. Just do it!
Today's wisdom from Ovid:
"Qui non est hodie cras minus aptus erit."
"He who is not prepared today will be be less so tomorrow."
ou don't use Google translate and then tell yourself that you're fluent in French, German, or Latin.
Similarly, you can't solve math problems with ChatGPT and then tell yourself that you're good at math.
Yes, you got the right answer. But you didn't learn anything.
Student: I’m going to get a 6 on the AP Calculus exam!
Me: The top score is actually a 5.
Student: I don’t care! I’ll be so good they’ll give me an extra point!
Shout-out to the students working with me today -- on a Saturday, the weekend before Thanksgiving break.
That's real dedication!
PSA to students: I can tell when you've written your essay with ChatGPT.
The tone is noticeably different from your own and you've included all sorts of details that you haven't studied in class in a very casual, Wikipedia-esque way.
Just got a text from a student who scored an A+ on a Latin test after struggling for two years.
How did we get her there? Repetition after repetition of conjugations, declensions, and vocabulary.
Repetition is the key. For languages and everything else.
Early Decision deadlines can make students go a little bonkers and that’s understandable.
But in the final rush to get everything submitted, don’t go too quickly and make careless mistakes.
Slow down, take your time, and proofread relentlessly.
Good luck to everyone in the final push for the Early Decision deadlines tomorrow!
Remember to read your essay out loud and proofread, proofread, proofread before you push that "submit" button.
There have been SO many snafus and debacles and glitches with the roll-out of the digital PSAT this month.
Doesn’t bode well for the first digital SAT in March 2024. 😬
