About:

The Hem Sarita Pathak Foundation’s history can be traced back to a simple act of helping 16 underprivileged children attend school in Jhapa, Nepal in 2012. That initiation, rooted with the passion to make educational opportunities available for every child in Nepal, led to the construction of a new high school in Ghumarchowk, Sankhu. Our hope is to not stop till every child has access to e

ducation. Why we built Ugratara High School in Ghumarchowk, Kathmandu:

Ghumarchowk didn’t have a high school till 2013. The community had a run down and underfunded public middle school that was on the verge of being shut down. Many students dropped out after completing 8th grade or would walk long distance to and back from a school in the city. The government funding accommodated teachers’ salaries, but all other costs are to be covered by the families. The Hem Sarita Pathak Foundation revived the middle school by providing financial support to the staff and constructed the high school in 2013 making education accessible to EVERY child in the village. Our students come from very poor socioeconomic backgrounds but are now able to continue their education for free. Kofi Annan said, “Literacy unlocks the door to learning throughout life, is essential to development and health, and opens the way for democratic participation and active citizenship”. The Hem Sarita Pathak Foundation is dedicated in promoting and enabling educational opportunities for the most vulnerable children in Nepal.

भ्रष्टाचारले राष्ट्रको ढुकुटी मात्र होइन, जनताको विश्वास पनि लुट्छ। विकासका नाममा हुने अनियमितता, शक्तिको दुरुपयोग, र सार्वजनिक सम्पत्तिको दोहनले देशलाई कमजोर बनाएको छ। अब हामीले यस्ता प्रवृत्तिलाई अस्वीकार गर्ने समय आएको छ। त्यसैले फागुन २१ गतेको निर्वाचनमा भ्रष्ट पार्टीका भ्रष्टाचारी उम्मेदवारहरूलाई पराजित गराऔँ।
