Flying a constant descent ideal a 3:1 or 3 degree glide path, results in the most stable approach. A stable approach gives you the best results while landing, a steeper descent rate increases the chance you become unstable at low altitude, in increases the chance for loss of control.

Remember, the best way to avoid becoming a statsistic is to go-around if something doesn’t seem quite right.
