Yesterday on what was a beautiful fall day Michele and I returned to North River Mills, West Virginia to continue our little project to replace missing and broken glass in the windows of the C. 1795 Miller Inn there. We were joined again by our friend Kevin Feather from Cumberland, Maryland who helped us in many ways. While I worked on cleaning antique glass and re-glazing an early window sash Kevin cut more particle board and painting it also to cover openings that need to have the window sash reproduced. He then took a chain saw to some saplings that had grown up on the north gable end of the building greatly improving the appearance of the Inn. Michele worked her magic cleaning and organizing two rooms inside. We were joined by Steve Bailes who assisted us with a number of tasks and with his wife Terri provided us again with a delicious hot lunch. After we had finished with the work for the day we had a nice dinner with Kevin at the nearby Slanesville Store before we travelled back to Big Pool arriving there about nine pm. We had a wonderfully productive day! Photos by Michele Smith
