A great reminder of what makes the CSRA so special: community. 💙

We were proud to join United Way of the CSRA’s annual campaign kickoff and celebrate the incredible partners working every day to make a difference across our community.

While Project Serve brought volunteers together today, AmeriCorps VISTAs are proud to serve this community year-round through the nonprofits and organizations where we serve. From strengthening programs behind the scenes to supporting the people and communities at the heart of the work, we’re grateful for the opportunity to contribute every day.

We’re honored to be part of a community that shows up, raises its hand, and believes in making an impact together. 🙌

Congratulations to Ms. Carolyn Miller, a parent at Richmond Hill Elementary School, for winning the Community Schools $50 Walmart Gift Card!

Ms. Miller participated in our Community Schools survey at Open House last month and provided valuable feedback to help strengthen our initiative. Parent and family engagement is essential to the success of our schools and community.

Principals, thank you for supporting our efforts and allowing our AmeriCorps VISTAs to conduct the parent survey at your schools. Your continued partnership is greatly appreciated.

AM Pathways to Success Foundation is excited to welcome Suzette Wise to our team as our Year-Round AmeriCorps VISTA through our valued partnership with United Way of the CSRA and AmeriCorps of The CSRA United Way!

Suzette brings a wealth of experience in operations, quality assurance, vocational instruction, and community development, along with a deep passion for helping students and families thrive. She is currently pursuing her Master of Public Administration at Augusta University, where she is further developing her expertise in building sustainable community programs and creating meaningful, lasting impact.

Over the next year, Suzette will play an instrumental role in strengthening AM Pathways to Success Foundation by building organizational capacity, expanding community partnerships, supporting volunteer engagement, enhancing program evaluation, researching funding opportunities, and developing sustainable systems that will help us serve even more students and families throughout the CSRA.

Here's a little more about Suzette in her own words:

"Hi everyone, I'm Suzette Wise! I'm so excited to share that I am serving as an AmeriCorps VISTA team member with the AM Pathways to Success Foundation! My background spans operations, quality assurance, and vocational instruction, and I'm deeply passionate about community development and supporting student success. I'm also a lifelong learner currently pursuing my Master of Public Administration at Augusta University, working to build sustainable support frameworks and drive impactful initiatives across our programs. When I'm not working behind the scenes to empower youth and strengthen community systems, you can find me staying active, spending quality time with my family, and enjoying local community events. I'm thrilled to be part of the team and look forward to making a difference together!"

We are incredibly grateful to United Way of the CSRA and AmeriCorps for their continued partnership and investment in our mission. Because of programs like AmeriCorps VISTA, organizations like AM Pathways to Success Foundation can build the infrastructure, partnerships, and resources needed to create lasting change for students and families.

As the new school year approaches, we're shining a spotlight on our Community Schools initiative in the Richmond County School System. A collaborative effort focused on ensuring every student has the support they need to thrive.

This month, our AmeriCorps VISTAS had the opportunity to visit United Way of Central Georgia to gain valuable insight into the operations and impact of the Community Schools model. A special thank you to Beverly Wright and Dr. Sundra Woodford for your incredible hospitality, expertise, and for sharing a day filled with learning and inspiration.

Our VISTAs will play a vital role in this work. Community Schools initiative is more than a program, it's a partnership that brings together schools, families, and community organizations to create lasting opportunities for student success. We are excited to see the positive impact this initiative will have across Richmond County and the foundation it will build for the future.

This summer, these dedicated individuals gave their time, talents, and passion to strengthen our communities and support meaningful change. Their commitment to service has made a lasting impact, and we're so grateful for everything they've accomplished.

We're also incredibly thankful to our host sites and community partners. Your mentorship, guidance, and partnership created meaningful opportunities for our Summer VISTAs to learn, grow, and make a difference. Thank you for investing in the next generation of leaders and changemakers 👏
