Our last summer camp of 2026 is officially in the books! 📚

During Sr. PoultryU, campers explored flock management, embryonic development, food technology, nutrition, and food chemistry through hands-on activities. They also discovered there's a place for almost every passion in the poultry industry—from science and research to business and beyond—and that every role helps our global industry thrive.

A HUGE thank you to all of our volunteers and speakers who made this camp such a success! We can't wait to do it all again next year! 🐣

That’s a wrap on our 2026 Poultry Science Teacher Workshop! 🐥

During the two-day workshop, we had the opportunity to welcome Ag teachers from across Alabama to the Miller Center. Participants heard from industry professionals and Auburn faculty as they shared their expertise through engaging presentations and hands-on activities, giving teachers a closer look at the poultry industry.

We loved sharing the many opportunities the poultry industry has to offer from production and nutrition to technology, processing, and the diverse career paths within the field. We hope each teacher left with new knowledge, valuable resources, and excitement to bring poultry science back to their classrooms.

Thank you to everyone who attended, our guest speakers, industry partners, and all who helped make this workshop a success. We can’t wait to see the impact these educators will make across Alabama.

This month's Spotlight on Success student is Crystal Dockery!🏆 Crystal is studying Poultry Science on the Pre-Veterinary track and is one of our newest Poultry Ambassadors! Crystal is currently gaining hands-on experience through her internship at the Thompson-Bishop-Sparks State Diagnostics Laboratory. During her time at Auburn, she has also participated in undergraduate research under Dr. Dianna Bourassa, assisting with microbiology research.

📢 Join us on July 24 for our Hatching Egg Management Webinar: From the Farm to the Hatchery! This free educational webinar will communicate management strategies to reduce contamination and identify areas of potential impact that can cause eggshell cracks of hatching eggs on the farm. Learn how cracked, leaking, and dirty eggs can negatively impact hatchability, 7-day mortality, and morbidity of chicks in a broiler house. You will be gaining practical insights to help improve results from the farm to the hatchery!

We had an incredible time sharing our passion for poultry science and giving these campers hands-on experiences that brought the industry to life. From fun games and interactive activities to learning from expert faculty and professionals in our college, it was filled with opportunities for these campers to learn and grow. Our campers got to explore the many different areas of the poultry industry, including nutrition, development, reproduction, food safety, and more! We hope we inspired the next generation of leaders in our industry!
