Most Nigerian graduates believe a fully funded master’s or PhD abroad is for people with First Class degrees, rich parents, or connections.

It isn’t.

It’s for people who know where the funding actually is.

Right now there are universities across the US, Canada, Europe, and beyond paying international students to attend.

Tuition waived.
Monthly stipend.
Some cover housing and healthcare on top of it all

I put 50 of these universities, the exact funding each one offers, and what they look for in an applicant, into one free guide.

The Hidden Funding Black Book.

Two people can work equally hard their whole lives.

One retires comfortable.

One retires anxious.

We love to pretend the difference is character.

Discipline.
Focus.
Financial wisdom.
Better decisions.

Sometimes, yes.

But more often than we admit, the real difference is exposure.

Which system caught them when life went wrong?

One person lost a job and had unemployment support, credit access, health insurance, and a stable currency behind them.

Another person lost a job and became the emergency fund for an entire family while the currency kept falling.

Same human being.
Same work ethic.
Different machinery.

Hard work is the price of entry.

It is not the thing that decides the outcome.

That truth is uncomfortable, but it explains more lives than motivational speakers are willing to admit.

I’m unpacking this properly on my WhatsApp channel this week: kaeron.co/channel

I just found a serious fellowship opportunity for people interested in peacebuilding, humanitarian diplomacy, international development, policy, research, and global leadership.

It is called the International Geneva Peace Fellowship Programme, run by Interpeace and the Geneva Graduate Institute. It supports 10 fellows for a nine-month residential programme in Geneva, with placements, mentorship, peer learning, and work across themes like peacebuilding, humanitarian diplomacy, civilian protection, youth participation, health and peace, faith-based diplomacy, and women, peace, and security.

The beautiful part is that nationality and gender do not screen you out. What matters is your background, leadership potential, writing ability, and commitment to the programme. From what I saw, you need a master’s degree or current PhD enrollment, plus relevant experience.

The application looks simple: CV, cover letter, and basic details.

Deadline: June 7, 2026 at 11:59 pm CET.

Search International Geneva Peace Fellowship Programme Interpeace and apply through the official Interpeace page.

Somebody on my timeline qualifies for this. Don’t overthink it. Apply.

Honest question, especially for anyone from where I’m from:

If the main income in your family stopped tomorrow, how many months could the family survive without life changing?

Not luxury.
Not enjoyment.
Just the basics.

Rent.
Food.
School fees.
Medication.
Electricity.
Transport.

How many months before things start falling apart?

No judgment at all.

I’m asking because that number tells you something your salary may be hiding from you.

Some people are earning well, but they are fragile.

Some people are not earning much, but they have quietly built a buffer.

Where do you think most families around us truly land?

One week?
One month?
Three months?
Six months?

A quick distinction that will change how you see money:

Wealth is not how much you earn.

Wealth is how many bad months you can survive without your life changing.

A person earning modestly with twelve months of expenses saved is wealthier, in the way that matters, than someone earning three times more with nothing behind them.

One person can absorb a shock.

The other person transmits the shock straight to their family.

That is why income can fool you.

Some people look rich, but one emergency away from begging.

Some people look ordinary, but they are quietly unbreakable.

Stop asking only, “How much do I make?”

Start asking, “How many bad months have I bought?”

That is the real number.

Most people think being broke means not having money.

It doesn’t.

Being broke means one bad month can destroy ten good years.

A job loss.
A hospital bill.
A currency crash.
One emergency call from home.

For some people, that is an inconvenience. For others, it wipes out savings, forces them to sell land, borrow money, cancel dreams, or start life again from zero.

And here is the uncomfortable part:

The difference is almost never how hard they worked.

It is the system standing behind them when life goes wrong.

This week, I’m going to explain what that means.

I’m building a space where I unpack this properly.

We were taught that financial security is a discipline problem.

Save more.
Spend less.
Work harder.
Stop buying things you don’t need.

That advice is not useless.

But it is incomplete, and sometimes it is cruel.

Because the same disciplined person can land in two completely different outcomes depending on the system they live inside.

In one country, a medical emergency is an insurance claim.

In another country, it is the family selling land.

In one system, losing a job triggers unemployment support, credit access, and time to recover.

In another system, losing a job means everyone connected to you starts sinking with you.

Same human being.
Same intelligence.
Same discipline.
Different exposure.

That is why I no longer believe fragility is mainly a moral failure.

Fragility is an exposure problem.

And exposure can be changed.

That is the conversation I’m starting this week.

Not motivation.
Not hustle talk.
Not “believe in yourself” content.

The real rules.

The dinner-table conversation that some families pass down quietly, while the rest of us learn through expensive mistakes.

I’m putting that conversation on the public record.

The principle of giving is real.

But I think we have misunderstood it when we reduce it to money.

Money is a man-made construct. Giving is deeper than money. The truest form of the principle is spiritual: the more love you give, the more love you receive. The more kindness you give, the more kindness you receive. The more truth you release, the more truth returns to you.

But when someone tells you that giving money automatically guarantees more money, be careful. That idea can become a chain. It can be used to manipulate sincere people who are trying to do the right thing.

Give. Be generous. Help people. Sow into what is right.

But don’t let anyone turn your generosity into a system of financial bo***ge.

Money doesn’t buy happiness?

So the fact that you can NOT afford fufu or Jollof Rice for lunch makes you happy?

Wow!

Most men confuse discipline with suffering. The gym, the cold shower, the 5am alarm.

It's not suffering. It's how you tell yourself you matter.

Every time you keep a promise to yourself, you build trust with the only person you can never escape.
