Wednesdays are for walking 🚶🌳 Through a partnership with Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation, exercise science students at GGC are helping local seniors stay active through weekly walks and wellness sessions, gaining valuable, hands-on experience along the way.

Congratulations to GGC School of Health Sciences graduate Kyla Mesa for representing the college at the University System of Georgia's Academic Recognition Day last month!
Mesa was one of just 26 students selected across the system for her outstanding academic achievement and was recognized with a formal resolution from the Georgia House of Representatives.

We’ve had so much to celebrate lately! 🎉 Here’s a look at some of the moments that made the last couple weeks of the semester special.
The moment 90‑year‑old Rubye Neal was awarded an honorary bachelor’s degree in education during GGC’s spring 2026 commencement ceremony. 🎓
A graduate of the Hooper‑Renwick School – the first African American high school in Gwinnett County – Neal was recognized for a lifetime dedicated to education and service, as well as her instrumental role in preserving the school’s legacy through the Hooper‑Renwick Themed Library.

For five , commencement was followed by another meaningful milestone: their Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) commissioning ceremony, marking the completion of the ROTC program and their transition to service as Second Lieutenants in the U.S. Army.
