Season of giving
As our year comes to an end and we reflect on all of the great milestones and accomplishments including our first ever Beyond the Books summer literacy program, an amazing partnership with Home Depot, and the gift of a free library post to our community, we know our work is not done yet. ...

Join us at our Free Library Launch Party! We’re celebrating with candy, costumes (not required), and a free book for every person.
This event will be festive and full of treats, and extra special because our Students to Scholars kids are donating free library post to the Vine City and English Avenue neighborhoods. The post will be a place where anyone can take a book for free, enjoy it, and then return it, or donate a book for someone else to discover.
Come by to enjoy some candy, pick out a book, and help us celebrate this new neighborhood treasure!

Dear S2S Families & Supporters,
We’re excited about the continued growth happening here at Students to Scholars! We’re thrilled to share that our website is getting a little behind-the-scenes tune-up. As we continue to grow and improve, we’ve been working hard to make sure all parts of our program, including our digital home, are running smoothly and serving our community well.
To complete this round of updates, our website will be temporarily down for maintenance from June 27 through July 1. During this time, you may experience limited or no access to the site, but don’t worry, it’s only temporary!
This short pause is part of a larger effort to strengthen the foundation of our work and ensure that families, supporters, and future partners can find what they need easily and reliably when visiting us online.
Thank you for your continued support and patience as we keep building something special together.
If you need any information that would typically be found on our website during this time, please don’t hesitate to email us at [email protected].
With gratitude,
The Students to Scholars Team

Our recent Party in the Park was a beautiful celebration of community! With the support of Peace Preparatory Academy, we welcomed four new students into our summer program. What a win for growth and connection! One of the highlights of the day was a specially curated, escape room–style scavenger hunt, designed just for us by Vroom Vroom Escape Room, a company founded by South Bay Community Churchmember Melana Singletary, who now lives in Atlanta. The interactive experience honored the legacy of Ms. Mattie and the community park, bringing together neighbors of all ages to work as a team, solve clues, and celebrate our shared history and future.
We’re deeply grateful to our friends in the Covenant, South Bay Community Church of San Francisco, for sponsoring this unique experience and for pouring into Students to Scholars in other meaningful ways during their visit. Not only did they help bring joy to the Party in the Park, but they also spent time cleaning and organizing our library, and helped kick off the transformation of our neighborhood free library post, cleaning, sanding, and priming alongside our Executive Director.
We were also thrilled to welcome several former S2S students, a powerful reminder that the connections built here truly last.
Thank you to everyone who came out, connected with our mission, and helped us continue spreading the word!
