Warning: Before you dispute online, KNOW YOUR RIGHTS! Disputing online sounds fast and efficient right? Wrong! Disputing online was created to make the credit bureaus job easier not yours. Be careful when disuting online...Why?

* Their Terms & Conditions state that if you dispute an item and it comes back verified, they might not dispute it again.

*The credit bureaus do not have to process an online dispute.

* With online disputes there is no paper trail to evidence the details of the dispute.

*The FCRA states that the credit bureaus must provide you with written results.

*The FCRA requires that the credit bureaus provide you with the method of verification on request from the consumer.

*When disputing online with the credit bureau and you disagree with the outcome and choose to take them to court, the credit bureau can legally press the arbtration clause and you could lose your right to a jury trial.

* Online disputing only offer a certian amount of "dispute reasons" if your reason for dispute is not there or you have to be more specific, you're forced to a reason code similar to your specific dispute or none at all.

So with that being said it is not a good idea to dispute online becasue you are taking away your rights! In addition, I know a lot of people disputing online and actually make thier credit worse due to the credit bureaus refusing to redispute their inaccurate accounts.

This makes it that much harder to go behind them. So if you choose to repair your own credit...MAIL OUT YOUR DISPUTE LETTERS!! However if you do choose to dispute online and it results in deletions that's great! But you better keep record of it because it could come back. Don't risk it, when in doubt, MAIL IT OUT!
