“I’m not going to ask you to kiss me,
neither ask for forgiveness when I believe that you have done wrong,
or that you have made a mistake.

Nor am I going to ask you to hug me when I need it the most,
or to invite me to dinner on our anniversary.
I’m not going to ask you to go around the world
to live new experiences, much less
ask you to give me your hand when we are in that city.

I’m not going to ask you to tell me how pretty I am,
even if it’s a lie or that you write me anything nice.
Nor will I ask you to call me to tell me
how your day was or tell me you miss me.

I’m not going to ask you to thank me for everything I do for you,
for you to worry about me when my moods are down
and of course I will not ask you to support me in my decisions.
I’m not going to ask you to listen to me when I have a thousand
stories to tell you.

I’m not going to ask you to do anything,
not even to stay by my side forever.
Because if I have to ask you,
I do not want it anymore.” -Frida Kahlo

I bought this painting as a birthday present for myself yesterday in an antique shop. It reminds me of embodied, empowered femininity: of love, strength and the resilience to be authentic, idealistic and courageous in a cruel world.

May our voices and our species rise up 🙏🏻💗. Happy Women’s Day 💃🌹

Season 9 of The Holistic Pharmacy Podcast is coming soon, dropping tomorrow, March 6, 2026! 🌿

New season. Deeper conversations. More of what you came here for, evidence-based herbalism, practitioner burnout, and the honest conversations your pharmacy school never had with you.

If you're a healthcare provider who's tired of band-aid prescribing and ready to actually heal people (and yourself), this season is for you.

I have to be honest: this week has felt heavy.

Kids sick. Sleep schedule off. Holiday stress. And I'm sitting here unmotivated and lethargic.

I’m listening to my body to slow down, yet feeling like I have to keep up with expectations.

This time of year invites reflection. The Winter Solstice. Hanukkah. Christmas. Kwanzaa. All celebrating the same theme: light returning, hope renewed, faith restored.

But maintaining faith (in ourselves, in others, in the Divine) feels harder than ever right now.

I've been contemplating this: "The road to hell is paved with good intentions."

Everyone acts from good intentions, right? But there's a space between intention and outcome. Between helpful and harmful.

The line lives where your actions impose on someone else's will or cause harm—intentionally or not.

This isn't meant to paralyze you. It's meant to liberate you.

Because it's quite easy to cross that line moment to moment. The important thing? Recognize it. Adjust.

Apologize if needed. Have compassion - for everyone, including yourself.

This brings me to why I'm really writing.

This year I've been dismantling self-protection mechanisms. The ways I've bypassed pain by throwing myself into projects, into "fixing" things.

I've finally let myself feel the anger, the frustration, and underneath it all…the grief. I've shed many tears these past months to allow more authenticity.

Next week, I'm sharing it all: The worst year of my life. When I got sick. How conventional healthcare failed me.

Not because of bad intentions, but because of lack of gentle tools, patient empowerment, and informed consent.

I believe we need to do better. Honor autonomy. Question policies. Practice true advocacy, not blind faith.

Thank you to the organizers of the - it was the perfect unseasonably hot fall day to spend at with other herbalists (and herbalists to be aka the fam).

Wish I could be in two places at once to catch all the talks - first aid, herbal manifesting tools and foraging were great.

Also got some goodies at the stands from and 🌱 🪄✨.

Will definitely look out for future events with !! 👏🏻🙏🏻

Shoutout to and for letting me know about this event. (Sorry I missed your talk Richard but I will be airing our talk about Lyme on the podcast soon 🙌🏻).

We need to change the paradigm of how we practice medicine now more than ever, and plants can be a huge part of the solution.

Let’s normalize plastic-free and sugar-free gifts for children. Got these cute crafty gifts for daughter’s daycare Valentine’s day party and the kids had a blast helping me decorate them and then I upcycled old colorful envelopes instead of buying goodie bags.

I think a handmade wooden magnet is a great keepsake that will last for years!
