Members, Parents/Guardians,
I am very sorry for the lack of communication over the last three weeks. Many factors have contributed to the delay.
Today I have to announce a decision that has been an extremely difficult one to make; The Gordon County Robotics Club will cease to exist, at least in the form of which you are accustomed.
As many of you know, obligations to my business and my children's extra-curricular activities (band, drama, voice, strings, etc.) have become very demanding, and in many cases conflict on weekends that robotics competitions take place. I feel I can no longer commit the time and resources to adequately support the club. As I said, it was not an easy decision to make, and involved a lot of soul searching.
On the positive side, I have been assured that Gordon County Schools' CTAE department will make an effort to offer opportunities for robotics at the individual schools. I have volunteered my time to work with teachers that will be adopting the new responsibilities. If you want to have a robotics club and/or classes at your school, I suggest you contact your principal, and let him or her know how important it is to you. Your voice can make a difference!
To members:
It has been an honor to be involved in the club over that last two years. You are all bright and talented, and have promising futures in STEM related careers. I hope you have the opportunity to continue working with robots, and I also hope you will always have good memories of the GCRC. I will be seeing you at school events, and maybe at VEX Robotics events if you continue to be involved.
To parents/guardians:
Please encourage your children to remain involved in robotics. Please contact your principal. Find out who the STEM coordinator is, then contact that individual. Funding is available for these programs! Also, if your child is really interested in robotics competitions, you may consider investing in their future by purchasing a kit. It's a great investment in their future!
Sincerely,
John Richardson

Parents/Guardians, Members. I'm sorry I did not update you last week as promised. I promise to this week via email and Facebook. We will not be meeting today.
Coach Richardson

Members, Parents/Guardians,
Today (Thursday, December 14) will be the last meeting of the year. We will meet from 4pm to 5pm at the Career Academy. The meeting is shortened because of the Christmas parade in downtown this evening.
Important!
I will be doing a year-end inventory for the school, and I need ALL robot kits, pieces, parts, containers, etc. (including game elements) returned to the school today. If you find items after today, they can be returned to the front office anytime before next Tuesday.
Thanks!
Coach Richardson
We will be meeting today from 4:00PM-5:30PM
Sorry guys. I forgot to tell all of you Tuesday that there is no Robotics today. I am working in Atlanta until late tonight.
