Hi All,

I am working with several other parents across grade levels to provide air purifiers to our Specials classes, since every student in the school rotates through these classrooms. So, we are asking for donations from $3-$5 for these. The first one is going to Dr. Bernard, due to his confirmation that singing is a COVID-19 super spreader! Next, we will provide for Art, STEM and Technology. If you have Zelle or Venmo, you can send using my phone number 404-384-9227. Otherwise, please send cash or check in a sealed envelope addressed to Joan Nichols Specials c/o Ms Cordova. Please clarify there that your donation is for Specials, due to I am also fundraising for air purifiers for Ms. Cordova and Ms. Pluta. Any extra funds will go toward filter replacements.

Thank you all so much!

CARPOOL PSA:
Please remember that children are walking to their classes from cars. Please remember that this is an elementary school and the children’s safety is of the upmost importance. Please do not drive down the wrong way of carpool to beat the line. Please do not park and walk your child across the parking lot in front of cars. Please stay in the carpool line and wait until you get up next to the building to let your child out. Please do not wait until you get to the very front of the line to let your child out because that backs up traffic. This is for the safety of everybody. Today somebody pulled out in front of a bus because they were in a hurry and caused an accident in the carpool lane. Fortunately, nobody was hurt. None of the children were marked tardy who arrived after the accident. If you are running late, please be patient and go through the carpool line as safely as possible. If you do end up getting to the school late, you will have to walk your child in and they will be marked as tardy. Providing a quality education in a safe environment is of the upmost importance, and our teachers and staff are doing a phenomenal job. Please help all of our children and teachers succeed by being mindful of carpool rules and show patience and kindness.

Hello all! For those with rising 5th graders, we'd like to get an idea of anybody who is interested in attending cotillion in January. You are NOT signing up for anything now. We just need an idea of who would be interested if Covid restrictions allow for it to take place. Please send a fb dm to Elizabeth McGinnis Ogletree if you and your child are interested or would like more information.
Etiquette classes for Eastvalley 5th graders will take place with 5th graders from Sope Creek, Sedalia Park, and Faith Lutheran. The classes are at Olde Towne on Wednesdays (Jan. 13th, 20th, 27th, and Feb 3rd) from 4pm-5:15pm. I can send fliers to anybody who is interested. Thanks!

Dear Cobb Schools Family,

After months of planning and understanding how student and staff needs have changed as a result of COVID-19 closures, Superintendent Chris Ragsdale announced that Cobb Schools will open for face-to-face instruction with parents being able to choose a traditional classroom or a remote learning classroom.

This format represents the best solution which balances our two most important priorities: the health and safety of our students and staff and student learning.

In preparation for our “face-to-face plus choice" model, we will be asking you to choose the classroom environment which is best for you and your family. If your student is new to the District for the upcoming school year, they must first be registered as a CCSD student, which can be completed here. Once the school approves your registration, your ParentVUE account will automatically be activated. If you already have a student enrolled in the District but do not have an active ParentVUE account, you will need to contact your student’s school for activation.

You will be able to submit your choice beginning on July 2nd but no later than July 10 through ParentVue. Both face-to-face and remote learning options will be available for all students, in all grades K-12. If you choose remote learning, you will be asked to certify that you have access to a device, the internet, and are committed to the remote learning environment for the semester. If you choose face-to-face learning, you will also be asked if you intend for your student(s) to ride the bus.

We also will continue to work tirelessly to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our staff and our students.

Social Distancing will be enforced whenever possible.
Hand Sanitizer will be provided in multiple locations throughout schools.
Masks are encouraged on buses and in school buildings.
Daily and rigorous cleaning protocols will be followed.
Nutritious meals will continue to be served daily.
We will continue to be in regular discussion with state and public health officials as their guidance is updated. We look forward to your input and appreciate your support as we support learning for every student in Cobb County during these unpredictable times.
