Five years ago, our students started a tradition of bringing Nurse Katrina a piece of their Halloween candy to show their gratitude for all she does. This year, the Wardlaw Gratitude Team wanted to be sure everyone knew about this tradition, so they created flyers and delivered them to classrooms last week. Throughout this week the nurse’s office has been extra busy with students stopping by the to share some love (and candy) with our beloved Nurse Katrina.

The Dyslexia Dash 2025 Race is on Saturday October 18, 2025. It includes the following events: 5K Run/Walk In-Person Race, 1 Mile In-Person Kids Fun Run, and 5K Run/Walk Virtual Race.

Cool and Colorful Clay Creations! Our students have been working hard creating all kinds of clay creations with Ms. Dalzell in art!

We had a great time celebrating all of our students’ hard work in reading this year with our annual Vocabulary Parade!

The Wardlaw Spelling Bee brought the buzz! 🐝 Our students in grades 1–6 took the stage with confidence, cheering each other on every step of the way. Congratulations to every student who participated. You turned a spelling challenge into a celebration of courage, character, and community.

Last week, classes worked together to pack over 50 gratitude snack bags for three local fire stations. Students also made cards to express their appreciation. Our students have enthusiastically embraced our Fighting Fires Together project planned and led by our Community Service Club. Inspired by the project, the Community Service Club decided they would like to keep momentum going and work together to raise money for the California Fire Foundation. They will have a special drawing at Screen on the Green as a fundraiser for this cause. Be sure to stop by their table to check out the prizes and buy a ticket for this great cause!

Congratulations to all of our students and Ms. Dalzell for putting on a fantastic art show this week! Students showcased their beautiful art that they have been creating and working hard on throughout the year!

For our March Wardlaw Assembly members of the Community Service Club performed a skit they wrote to promote our Fighting Fires Together project and this month’s superpower…cooperation. Club members have also made signs, passed out flyers at carpool, and will visit preschool classes next week. We have just a few spots left on our signup for treats for local firefighters.
