The 2026 Back-to-School Rally returns Saturday, July 25, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Administrative and Instructional Complex (AIC) at 1701 Mountain Industrial Blvd in Stone Mountain!

Join us as we get students and families Day One Ready with resources that support the whole child:

🎉 Spirit: Entertainment, pep rally fun, and community connections

📢 REMINDER! The DeKalb County School District has proposed a 2026 millage rate of 22.78 mills, unchanged from 2025, yet 0.356 mills above the rollback rate of 22.424 mills, which is defined by Georgia law as a tax increase. Read more: https://bit.ly/4wYYt7G

CONGRATULATIONS to Peachtree Middle School sixth-grader Sarv Dharavane for earning third place at the 2026 Scripps National Spelling Bee for the second consecutive year!

Competing against more than 240 of the nation’s top young spellers, Sarv once again demonstrated remarkable knowledge, preparation, and composure on one of the country’s biggest academic stages.

His back-to-back top-three national finishes place him among the elite competitors in Scripps National Spelling Bee history and continue a remarkable journey that has inspired our entire community.

Way to Go, Sarv! We are incredibly proud of you and can’t wait to see what comes next. 👏

is launching the Community L.E.A.D. Academy, a yearlong leadership and advisory experience designed for individuals who are passionate about supporting student success across DeKalb County.

Participants will:
✔️ Gain insight into district operations and initiatives
✔️ Engage directly with district and school leaders
✔️ Strengthen partnerships that support students and schools
✔️ Serve as informed advocates for public education

The program includes monthly sessions beginning in September 2026, a “Principal for a Day” experience, and cohort recognition in Spring 2027.
