The DCSD English Learner Department is launching its International Parent Engagement Series, a virtual program designed to help families navigate the school system, access valuable resources, and support student success.

Sessions will cover topics including:
• Navigating DCSD schools
• ESOL, Exceptional Education, and Section 504 services
• Preparing for high school success
• Supporting English Learners
• Online safety and digital citizenship

📣 ¡Atención, familias de !

Ya están abiertas las nominaciones para el Consejo Asesor de Familias de Servicios Estudiantiles del Superintendente, que reúne a padres, madres y tutores de estudiantes multilingües y de estudiantes que reciben servicios de Educación Excepcional.

El consejo ofrece a las familias la oportunidad de compartir sus perspectivas, experiencias y necesidades, además de aportar ideas sobre programas, participación familiar, comunicación y otros temas que apoyan el éxito de los estudiantes.

Se anima a participar a padres, madres y tutores que:
◼️ Tengan un idioma principal en el hogar que no sea el inglés
◼️ Tengan un estudiante que reciba servicios de ESOL
◼️ Tengan un estudiante con una discapacidad que reciba servicios o adaptaciones, incluyendo un Programa de Educación Individualizado (IEP) o un Plan de la Sección 504

Los miembros seleccionados participarán en reuniones virtuales durante el año escolar 2026–2027.

📣 Calling parents and guardians!

Nominations are now open for the Superintendent’s Student Services Family Advisory Council (SSFAC), which brings together families of multilingual learners and students receiving Exceptional Education services.

The council gives families an opportunity to share their perspectives, experiences, and needs while providing input on programs, family engagement, communication, and other matters that support student success.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to apply if they:
◼️ Have a primary home language other than English
◼️ Have a student receiving ESOL services
◼️ Have a student with a disability receiving services or accommodations, including an IEP or Section 504 Plan

Selected members will participate in virtual meetings during the 2026–2027 school year.

Nominations are now open for the Superintendent’s Staff Advisory Council, bringing employees together to share perspectives, provide recommendations, and help strengthen communication between staff and district leadership.

The council represents both classified and certified employees across DCSD and provides an opportunity for staff members to contribute ideas and feedback on programs, policies, workplace matters, professional development, and other priorities that affect our employees and schools.

Selected members will meet face-to-face four times during the school year.

If you live, learn, work, or serve in the Chamblee, Cross Keys, Druid Hills, Dunwoody, Lakeside, or Tucker cluster, this is an opportunity to help represent your school community in the Student Assignment Project process.

Serve alongside district leaders and neighbors and help shape recommendations before they reach the Board of Education.
