Intalage teacher Tasneem Tazkiya shares a reflection story from 2025:

"One moment that really stayed with me this year involved a student who had been struggling with confidence and often hesitated to share ideas. I made a small adjustment by pairing her with peers who valued her input and giving her creative freedom in how she presented her work. By the end of the project, she volunteered to share her ideas with the class and even helped others refine theirs. That experience reminded me how much teaching is about seeing potential before it’s fully realized and how a little encouragement can open the door for growth."

We hope you have learned and reflected just as much as your students have this year ⏳

Ms. Lydia Dixon, a math teacher from Jamaica, supports and strengthens her students in the U.S.

"This past school year, I was honored to be named Teacher of the Year. I also launched a cultural initiative called Rhythms Across Borders and led the SCIS Dancing Panthers, a multicultural dance club that has grown to include over 50 students and staff members. I’m most proud of how this initiative has helped unify our school community through culture, movement, and mutual respect."

Ms. Tasneem Tazkiya is an Intalage teacher currently serving students in Georgia. Here is what she had to say about engaging with students in her classroom:

"Teaching in the US has given me the opportunity to learn about a new education system, adapt to different classroom dynamics, and embrace a more diverse and inclusive teaching environment. I have enjoyed incorporating my own cultural perspectives into my lessons, which has allowed me to build strong connections with my students and help them appreciate global viewpoints.

One of the most memorable parts of my journey has been participating in cultural exchange activities. I’ve had the chance to share my Indian culture through presentations, classroom activities, and special events such as International Night and cultural fairs. Students loved learning about Indian festivals, traditional attire, food, and language, and these experiences helped promote understanding, respect, and curiosity among them."
