Georgia CTI The Georgia Career and Technical Instruction (CTI) support service is designed to assist high school students with disabilities enrolled in CTAE courses.

The Georgia Career and Technical Instruction (CTI) support service is designed to assist high school students with disabilities who are enrolled in Career, Technical, Agricultural Education (CTAE) courses. In these courses, students acquire employability skills that ease their transition to postsecondary education or the workforce. The Career Technical Student Organization of CTI offers the opport

unity to students to apply the industry skills learned in their respective career pathway. Georgia CTI offers 28 competitive events that align directly with Georgia’s CTAE Course Curriculum and Standards. The first standard of all Georgia CTAE courses states that a student will demonstrate employability skills required by business and industry. Georgia CTI intentionally offers a variety of competitive events that will meet this standard such as Career Exploration /Job Interview, Community/Civic Awareness, Most Improved Person, Occupational Creative Thinking, Public Speaking, School Project and Team Career Skills. Georgia CTI is a support program that encourages student participation in one of the other respective Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSO) aligned with their pathway or career goal.

The countdown to a new school year is on, and the excitement is building! Our Georgia CTI adviser from Ridgeland High School recently shared what they're looking forward to most, and we think it perfectly captures what CTI is all about.

"I don’t know about y’all, but I’m getting excited!

I can’t wait to welcome back my returning CTI students and meet all the new faces joining our CTI family this year. Whether you’ve been with CTI before or this is your first year, I’m so glad you’re here.

One of my favorite parts of being a CTI Coordinator is seeing students grow, find their strengths, develop skills they’ll use for life, and accomplish things they didn’t think they could. That’s what makes this job so rewarding.

I have a feeling this is going to be an amazing year filled with new opportunities, hands-on learning, leadership, friendships, and memories we’ll never forget. I can’t wait to see what we accomplish together!

Enjoy these last few weeks of summer, and I’ll see everyone soon. Here’s to another great year with our CTI family—we’re just getting started!"

🌱 Last week, Appling County High School CTI students had an amazing G.R.O.W. experience!

Throughout the week, students participated in activities designed to build confidence, leadership, workplace readiness, and career awareness while exploring key Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) skills.

A special thank you to guest speakers Carmen Spell, Alison Lamb, and Ashley Williams for sharing valuable insights on self-confidence, careers, leadership, and preparing for the future.

Students also visited Southern Adventures at Georgia Southern University, where they challenged themselves through team-building activities that strengthened communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills. They explored careers during a tour of the Appling County Canning Plant, learning how the facility supports local farmers, families, and the community.

It was a week full of learning, growth, and new experiences. Thank you to our guest speakers, community partners, and everyone who helped make this week a success. We are proud of our G.R.O.W. students and excited to see how they use what they've learned moving forward!
