Georgia School of Orthodontics clinics and administrative offices will be closed on Monday, September 7. We will resume our regular business hours on Tuesday, September 8. If you experience an orthodontic emergency while the office is closed, please visit our emergency care webpage at BracesToday.com for common orthodontic problems and how to manage them. If the emergency persists, please call us at 770-351-7737 and press 9 to contact the doctor on call for immediate assistance. Calls received after 7 PM will be returned the following morning after 7 AM.

Welcome, Class of 2029!
 
Following orientation last week, GSO’s newest residents are officially beginning Introduction to Orthodontics, an intensive seven-week course that lays the foundation for their three-year journey at Georgia School of Orthodontics.
 
Over the weeks and years ahead, these talented dental professionals will expand their knowledge, strengthen their clinical skills and grow into the next generation of orthodontic specialists.
 
We’re excited to welcome the Class of 2029 and look forward to sharing more moments from their GSO journey along the way!

The conference provided an important platform to highlight orthodontics as a rewarding and dynamic career path, address common misconceptions about the specialty, and share what makes GSO’s orthodontic residency program unique. Congratulations to Dr. Joseph Asercion, recipient of the Georgia School of Orthodontics President’s Award, presented by GSO President Chris Lazzara during our 2026 Graduation Commencement.

Established in 2023 by former GSO President Dr. Randy Kluender, the President’s Award recognizes meritorious contributions and support for the Georgia School of Orthodontics.

Since joining GSO in 2017, Dr. Asercion has served as Clinical Director, Professor, and a member of the Board of Trustees. His dedication to advancing orthodontic education, mentoring generations of residents, and supporting the continued growth of GSO has made a lasting impact on our school and community. He was also named GSO’s inaugural Distinguished Professor in recognition of his extraordinary service.

Dr. Asercion will continue to serve GSO in an advisory capacity, supporting our clinical faculty and providing guidance on faculty recruitment and strategic initiatives.

Congratulations to the following residents who completed the second round of GSO Research Day presentations.

Group 1: Dr. Stephen Nikodem, Dr. Kingsley Benson, Dr. Armin Ai, and Dr. Talita Massarotto presented “Association of Etiological Factors with Maxillary Impacted Canines at Georgia School of Orthodontics.”
