Finishing up the Rustic Christmas Advent Calendar today. It will be delivered to the kids tomorrow so Lucas can begin the Christmas count down!

Use alphabet dies to make a Merry Christmas banner. Or fill with coupons for co-workers or stocking stuffers. Make really quick and sweet Christmas cards buy adding the small envelopes and dies to a card base.

All my crafty friends that have black thumbs like mine…what do you think of this idea? I have several dead mums that would love a makeover! And sad thing is they’ve been dead since before the colder weather. Ugh!

So when do you put up your tree?

Growing up I went to bed on Christmas Eve and there was no tree up. Santa brought our toys and our decorated tree with tinsel strands placed one by one. As I got older, I realized that was why my mom looked so tired in our Christmas morning photos. So I promised myself, after I got married, that no way was Santa bringing our tree!!

I always put our trees up the day after Thanksgiving. However, when mom fell ill and then me I began to ask the kids and Lucas to help on Thanksgiving day. That way I have help with the tree and I can decide how little or how much I want to decorate in addition to the tree. Most years I have said I’m cutting back and then end up dragging everything out! We will see what this year brings.
