Atheist students to counter-protest Westboro following Chattanooga shooting.
CHATTANOOGA, TN - Students from Secular Panthers at Georgia State University, the Secular Student Alliance at Dalton State College, and the newly founded Secular Student Alliance at Clayton State University will be participating in a peaceful counter protest of Westboro Baptist Church July 22 at 9:00 a.m. at the Chattanooga Funeral Home in Hixson, TN following the shooting of five Marines in Chattanooga last Thursday.

Secular Panthers condemns the recent killing of three Muslim students at the University of North Carolina. It appears that this crime was motivated by intolerance of Muslims, and the leadership of Secular Panthers finds such intolerance to be both abhorrent and against the foundational principles of secular free thought. Our hearts go out to the victims of the attack and their families and friends, and we hope that justice will be served swiftly and definitively against the perpetrator.

Hey all! Sorry for the late notice, but we are not having our weekly meeting tonight! Instead, a bunch of us are going to see the Daniel Ellsberg talk in Centennial Hall at 6:30, so if you go to that, try to find us! We will be back with our regular meeting next week!

If you or anyone you know has experienced or witnessed harassment at the hands of the street preachers who congregate on and around GSU campus, I want to hear your stories. Please send as much detail as possible about the incident to:

We will not use any names unless you tell us explicitly that it's okay. If you get your story in by the morning of November 12 (that's next Wednesday), I will be able to present it in a meeting with the Dean of Students in order to communicate the severity of the problem. Please share this as far and wide as you can. We can take back our campus and get rid of the hate.

Don't forget--the Secular Panthers first annual Halloween party will take place tonight at 7! Stop by our normal meeting spot (Lucerne Suite) for games, costume prizes, food, and good times. Can't wait to see everyone there!

Save the date! Our first ever Secular Panthers Halloween Party will be on Wednesday, October 29th from 7-9! Don't miss it. We'll have free food, costumes prizes, games, and good people!

Come out and see us at the Student Organization Fair in Hurt Park today! We're at table 112, toward the corner of Edgewood and Courtland. We are seated immediately across from Grace Midtown Church. They do not seem very happy to see us :)
