Our Private Pre-K Papayas class at AKW Jackson has been spending time getting to know their new friends and sharing about themselves. 🥭

The August family engagement projects came in, and it has been wonderful to see the creativity our little ones brought to them. Each project gave us a glimpse into how they see themselves, and it was especially sweet watching them present their projects to their new classmates. There is something special about seeing a child take pride in sharing a piece of who they are.

We are grateful for our families who participated and look forward to more projects throughout the school year. 🧡

Imagination Station is in full swing over at AKW Jackson. 🧡

For those who may not know, Imagination Station is our weekly rotating enrichment program for our 2s through school-age students. Each week brings something new and exciting for our kids to explore.

Here's a peek at what we've been up to during the first two weeks:

Week 1: Our little chefs had a cooking lesson and made no-bake energy bites. They were so proud of their creations.

Week 2: We switched to art and our students made self-portraits. It was wonderful to see how each one captured their own unique personality on paper.

We are already looking ahead to Week 3, which will be Movement Matters. We can't wait to get moving with our students.

If you are a parent who loves to cook, has a fun science lesson to share, or would like to lead an art or Movement Matters activity, we always welcome volunteers. Just reach out through your child's teachers or stop by the front office. We would love to have you join us. 🧡

A super proud congratulations to Ms. Ashley, our AKW Covington Director, who is graduating today with her Master's! 🧡

Getting a degree while working full time is a challenge in and of itself. Pair that with running a school full of kids, and we honestly cannot believe how this super woman does it all. She shows up every single day for our students, our staff, and our families, all while putting in the work to achieve this incredible milestone.

This week's AKW Kids' Choice meal was a clear winner—black bean nachos! 🌮 Who doesn't love a good nacho or taco day, right?

We've got so much gratitude for our chefs who make it all happen, and our CACFP menu planner who keeps our menus fun, tasty, and nutritious week after week. We're lucky to have you all!

Now, we'll be honest—the salsa this time around wasn't homemade, but we couldn't help but think about one of our favorite summer activities with the kids: making tomato and watermelon salsa together. It's always a hit and such a fun way to get little hands involved in the kitchen while exploring fresh, seasonal ingredients.

Good food, good company, and happy little eaters—that's what it's all about. 🧡

Happy 24th work anniversary to Mrs. Jennifer! 🧡

AKW has been around for 29 years, and Mrs. Jennifer has been with us for 24 of those years. She has worked as one of our amazing Pre-K teachers and has since taken on so many roles, including Assistant Director, and now serves as our Pre-K Director and QR Specialist at AKW Loganville.

She knows AKW Loganville, the kids, and the parents forwards and backwards. Whether she is stepping in to support a teacher handling a tough moment, assisting the admin team, or popping into the kitchen to make sure our kiddos are getting delicious and nutritious meals, Mrs. Jennifer is always there. She does it all with grace, humor, and a whole lot of care.

We truly could not imagine AKW without her. Thank you for 24 incredible years, Mrs. Jennifer. We are so grateful for you. 🧡

This week at all three locations, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate our amazing teachers and staff. 🧡

At AKW Jackson and AKW Loganville, we had a yummy taco bar to show our appreciation. Over at AKW Covington, they enjoyed delicious sub sandwiches.

We are so grateful for our entire AKW team and all the dedication they pour into our students every single day. Thank you for making this school year off to such a strong start. We appreciate each and every one of you. 🧡

We're wrapping up an amazing first week of school, and we've got to say—Tuesday's meal was a clear winner!

A huge thank you to our incredible chefs and cooks at all three locations for cooking with love every single day. You all are the heart of our kitchens!

Shoutout to our CACFP menu planner for always keeping our menus fun, tasty, and nutritious—you seriously make it look easy.

And we couldn't do it without our amazing community partners, Three Peas in a Pod and Southern Swiss, for supplying us with fresh, high-quality dairy and produce. We're so grateful for you!

What a delicious way to kick off the school year. Here's to many more tasty meals ahead!
