Outdoor snack time came with a tiny surprise guest!
A tiny ladybug landed on an apple slice during our picnic, and our little SoulShiners were absolutely fascinated. They gathered closely, and with so much gentleness, as they watched our good-luck bug enjoy a bite alongside us.
In our permaculture-inspired preschool, we believe some of the best learning happens in these simple, everyday moments outdoors. It's where curiosity grows naturally and children learn to care for the world around them.

Meet Shannon, the heart behind SoulShine.
In 2006, founder Shannon Smith-SengStack and a small group of parents opened a creative space for the community seeking a unique approach to child learning. This small, after-school program blossomed into a space where children, families, and educators are nurtured with intention, love, and a deep respect for the world around them.
