Had a great weekend! Tried out the afternoon tea service at !

Over Christmas I told my mom I was going to stop buying her random things as gifts for her and instead start taking her to do things she hasn’t done before so we can enjoy the fun of new experiences!

Last month we did aerial yoga and this month we went to high tea! She loved both 🫖🧘🏽‍♀️

I was talking to someone the other day and it’s crazy how the cards you pull in the morning can come into play into real life. Someone was trying to rush me and I said “No sir! Not today I am right on time” 🤣

I even put my hand out y’all ✋🏾😂

One of the things I’ve been very diligent about recently is not letting people rush me or me rushing myself. Traffic is a good example. I like to stay in my lane now. I’m not trying to swan dive across four lanes of traffic just to get to work two minutes early. I’ll get there when I get there. 🦢🐢🚗

I completed my first residency last week! Traveling to Orlando was interesting to say the least. It was kind of cool that I can meet my classmates in person, which was something I have been trying to avoid because your girl is a bit of a hermit, but it worked out and everyone was super chill. My professor is also hilarious! I learned so much in the experience of having to conduct a 20 minute counseling session gave me the confidence to know that I am choosing the right life path and that I am capable of helping people be their best self by working through their issues. I also got a 100 so that’s doesn’t hurt either 👩🏾‍🏫

Wanted to share this quick review of this gel nail strip set. Y’all know I love to do nails and very much so consider nails a part of my self-care.

Before I got out all my tools to do something freehand I figured I would try the strips in the office to see how they go over. Happy to report I can wear my strips, but I found the durability of this particular set to be very short lasting which is a bummer. The adhesive did not adhere on the nails that had the designs on them, especially the glitter an abstract ones.

I’ve got several other sets in the house so I’ll ride with these until the wheels fall off and then maybe try another one before going back to painting my nails regularly.

Stop and think about the level of access people currently have to you.

Who has your phone number?
Who only has your work email?
Who do you call when things go well? Who calls you when their situation is not going well?
Who knows what’s really going on with you?

It’s ok to change the levels of access as your life changes. It’s definitely takes practice to maintain relationships AND set boundaries that respect what you need when you need it.

As a first steps, consider the one friend that only calls when they need to complain, but doesn’t quiet seem to be there for you when you need them. The next time they call or text, let them know that now isn’t a good time or that you can’t hold space for their conversation. See how it goes. They may be a little unhappy, but you have to train people how to interact with you. The more you let them know what you will and won’t pick up the phone for, the more they will get the hint and adjust themselves accordingly over time with less and less direction from you.

If they stop contacting you or want to get into an argument about your boundaries, it may hurt but then you know that the relationship that you have with this person is different than how you perceived it to be. Move and adjust accordingly.

Blog post or podcast coming up later this week to continue this idea!

Put up a gallery wall this weekend. A few things will change but I did pretty good job. Eventually, the photos will be re-printed, I’ll probably pick out another basket and the hallway will be painted white. Previously had chair railing on the wall but it had to come down. Not my thing. Couldn’t stand the sight of it!

I actually took something back to the store 🥳

I’ve been kinda manic recently and bought a ton of stuff from Macy’s over the last two weeks. I made a plan and waited until the weekend to commit to returning at least half the stuff I bought.

Got up. Arrived when they opened. Got it done.

What are you proud of yourself for today?
