Learning is s'mores fun when it is hands-on. Mrs. Tansill's third grade class loved exploring heat sources over the last three weeks. They used all that knowledge to construct solar ovens and make s'mores.

🧠🔢 **STEM Challenge in 5th Grade!** 🔢🧠

Our 5th graders put their teamwork, strategizing, and problem-solving skills to the test with the **Magic Number Cube** activity! 🎲🤝 They worked together, shared ideas, and put their critical-thinking skills to work to tackle the challenge.

Learning + teamwork + a little friendly competition = a great STEM day!

Mrs. Leathers’ class conducted experiments to learn more about heat transfer in their science unit. ☀️

They tested and recorded the effect of heat on ice in the shade and the sun. They recorded the temperatures and analyzed the data. ☀️🧊

They also designed, built, and tested solar ovens to see the effect of the heat from the sun on their s’more in their ovens. 🍫☀️

Ms. Hawes’ class wrapped up their heat unit in science with a delicious hands-on experiment—making s’mores using solar heat! ☀️😋

Our Eagles had a blast putting their learning into action, and of course, everyone enjoyed the yummy snack! 🦅💙💛

Join us for Bingo, lawn games, and a special showing of Space Jam! Pizza will be available for preorder as well as for purchase during the event. Concessions will also be available.

Doors will open at 5:30 pm. Bingo is at 6 pm. Space Jam begins at 6:30 pm. Bring your own chairs or blanket for a movie under the Cafeteria stars!

He didn't hesitate for a second to set the bar for school spirit, proving once again how lucky we are to have such an amazing, fun-loving leader guiding our Walker Park family.

Our Pre-K friends have been busy learning all about their classroom, and today was the BIG day… they finally got to play in centers! 🎉🧸🧩📚

So much exploring, learning, sharing, and FUN happening in their classroom! We think these little Eagles are off to a great start! 💙💛🦅
