It is with profound sadness that we let you all know that Mr. Mark Elsey passed away last night. We are all deeply grateful for the impact that Mark made on this organization and those that have helped support Health Science Education throughout the years.

His legacy will continue to live on in HSTEA through the Mark Elsey New Teacher Scholarship.

Congratulations to HSTEA’s very own Amanda Baker of Central Gwinnett HS!
Amanda was honored to represent CGHS as the TOTY and was also named a semi-finalist for the district TOTY! Amanda and other finalists were celebrated last week at Gwinnett County’s TOTY gala.

Healthcare teachers from all across the state met for the 2026 HSTEA Winter Conference this past weekend at the beautiful Life University in Marietta, Ga.
Learning, networking, and professional development took place and it was wonderful!
