Student Success Story:
Well, first let me tell you what it has done for me and my family. My husband and I have full time Monday through Friday jobs. Three grown kids and three kids still at home. It is great when your kids are all close and get alone….right?...this does not happen in my house! My three younger kids are adopted and came from a tense situation and family history. Needless to say this has carried on with them and has created loads of difficulties for us as a family. We have had our 13 year old in with 8 different counseling centers and on various medications over the past 5 years. Each time we have had the same outcome. When she turned aggressive towards her brothers, skipping school, failing classes we had to find something else to try. I could no longer let her stay home with her brothers waiting on us to get off from work. We tried babysitters and afterschool. We tried help from neighbors. Then I was told to check into 21st Century for my 13 year old. The first day after speaking with Coach Harris I felt like we had a possible solution for our daughter. She started attending and slowly but surely grades came up to three A’s and the rest B’s and C’s. No longer failing!
Her personality has grown more positive. She has a better self-opinion. She is reaching out to help others at the center and looks forward to getting her homework completed with the staff’s guidance. No more homework battles! We have been involved with 21st Century for several months now and I say I look forward to continuing this positive growth trend for me and my family!

Student Success Story:
Our son has been struggling in math for the last 3 years. We had helped all we could but it just didn't seem to be enough. We felt like we were at our wits end when, near the end of last school year, we received an information packet through the school about the 21st Century program. We filled out the paperwork and hoped and prayed there would be a spot for him. I had just about given up
when I got a call from one of the site coordinators (Gloria Ogletree) We were so excited - he was in!
Not only was he able to have a great summer with friends and neighbors but now he has help with his work every afternoon from well qualified teachers in a caring environment where he knows he is expected to 'tow the line'. His math grades are up to a B+ and a C and he is getting better all the time. This program has been such a blessing to him and to us! I just cannot say enough good things about this program!
