DeKalb County Government is partnering with the DeKalb County School District and local faith leaders to GIVE AWAY 3,000 bookbags filled with school supplies AND 5,000 boxes of fresh produce, chicken and lunch box snacks on Saturday, August 3rd!

DeKalb County and its partners will distribute:

— 3,000 clear bookbags filled with a pack of 12 pencils, a pack of 12 pens, a ruler, a pack of 24 crayons, a composition notebook, a three-subject notebook, notebook filler paper, a pack of three erasers, a flash drive and a calculator.

— 5,000 boxes of Georgia-grown fruits and vegetables, eggs, and chicken hindquarters.

— Lunch box snacks.

On Saturday, Aug. 3, beginning at 9 a.m., the school supplies and food distributions will be held at the following locations:

More GOOD News! 🤩 Yesterday we made HUGE progress in the effort to destigmatize and legalize ma*****na in the U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland submitted a rescheduling proposal to The White House Office of Management and Budget. It has to go through a 60-day "hearing process" before it goes into effect. Ma*****na will be classified as a level 3 drug, like Tylenol 3! Now, we're working to see how it will impact people serving sentences for possession and distribution. THANK YOU Chris Brown and all other activists and orgs. who lead this movement for years!!! 🥳

Biden administration plans to reclassify ma*****na, easing restrictions nationwide Cannabis is currently classified along with drugs like he**in and L*D. The administration is expected to reschedule it in a category that includes steroids and Tylenol with codeine.
