It is the holidays —buy something at Casa Amadeo, the longest continuously running Latin Music store in New York City. Founded in 1941 as Casa Hernandez, Miguel Angel “Mike” Amadeo took over the shop in 1969 and carries a wide selection of vinyl records and CDs, as well as Latin & Caribbean musical instruments. Mike Amadeo, who is now in his nineties, is a talented composer with nearly 300 songs to his credit, performed by artists including Celia Cruz, Danny Rivera, Willie Colon, El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, and Tito Nieves.
