The Ramblin' Rocketeers are the Georgia Tech Rocket Team and compete in the NASA University Student Launch Initiative (USLI).

04/23/2014

This summer, the Georgia Tech Ramblin’ Rocketeers will be competing in the 9th Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition (IREC), which will be held June 26-28, 2014 in Utah!

The emphasis of the Experimental Sounding Rocket Association (ESRA) rocket competitions is student design and construction of as many parts of the rockets as possible, including propulsion, structures, avionics, recovery, and payloads.

There are two categories at the Competition: Basic and Advanced. We will be competing in the Basic Category with the goals to launch and recover a rocket with 10-lb payload closest to 10,000 feet above ground level (AGL).

For more information about the competition, visit their website: http://www.soundingrocket.org/

Keep your eyes open for more posts containing updates (with pictures) of what we are currently working on!

We've decided to merge our engine testing and our Thanksgiving cooking into one event for the sake of efficiency.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Please follow safe rocket motor turkey cooking practices.
