The Ladies of the Dynamic Delta Chapter of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. proudly commemorate Juneteenth Freedom Day. ❤️💛💚

Observed each year on June 19, Juneteenth marks the day in 1865 when enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, learned of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. It is a day to honor freedom, reflect on our nation's history, and celebrate the resilience and achievements of African Americans.

As we commemorate this historic occasion, we remember those who came before us and the sacrifices that helped pave the way for future generations.

This past Founder's Day, the Ladies of the Dynamic Delta Chapter of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. gathered for A Taste of Sisterhood Lunch & Learn as we celebrated 97 years of friendship, love, and service. 💚🐢✨

Sorors enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of food, fellowship, and meaningful conversation as we reflected on the ingredients needed to build a strong sisterhood and chapter. Just like a great meal requires many ingredients, a thriving sisterhood is strengthened by the unique gifts, talents, and contributions of every Soror.

We are grateful for opportunities to connect, grow, and continue building the legacy of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. together. 💚

On June 1, 1929, our visionary founders Lola Mercedes Parker, Ethel T. Edwards, Mildred G. Hardin, Harriet M. Robinson, Ophelia Harrison, Burdette Trigg, and Marjorie Tyndall established Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. in Chicago, Illinois. Their vision created a lasting legacy of sisterhood, service, leadership, and business excellence that continues to inspire women across the nation.

As we celebrate 97 years of friendship, service, and love, we honor our founders and the generations of women who have carried their vision forward. Happy Founder's Day to all the distinguished women of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc.! 💚🐢✨
