If you're in the beginning of pregnancy... I know there is so much going on for you...especially first pregnancies. Someone told me a few months ago that creating content for prenatals is a waste of time bc during pregnancy no one wants to do yoga but....I wholeheartedly disagree. Today I wanted to share a bit about my story as a pregnant "yogi" and why yoga just might be exactly what YOU need in your journey.

this pandemic has taken so much...

but it’s giving us things too

I remember the weeks before my baby shower and how weird I felt having a party for me. Asking people to show up and celebrate my milestone. I know it’s what we do but for some reason I felt so weird taking hours from someone else’s day

If only I knew what was around the corner...if only everyone who came knew that soon gatherings would be life threatening and face masks would cover our smile

A few weeks ago I spent the morning with one of my favorite people, gifted photographer and new mama, Thu Tran. It felt indulgent to spend a few dollars on photos when I am in “conserve and survive mode” but this pandemic has taken so much

And it’s left me this..my baby and my mama

The world in one drop

Sometimes the only thing that makes the world “right” is putting on a beautiful dress and holding the one you love 💛

mamas....remember this...celebrate your milestones, allow yourself repeated moments of joy!

A Note to New & Expecting Mama's...

I got married almost a year ago & although it looks like there were just two of us in this picture - I was carrying the sweetest little miracle with us (I found that out the day after we got married!)... what joy, right? To find "my love" and create a new life - And I thought I had it all figured out... and then life did what it does...

In the past year I've brought a new life into the world, I've closed the doors to two yoga studios, reopened them & face the prospect of closing them again. I've filed for unemployment, I've lost countless nights up searching COVID in babies, & considered skipping two month vaccines because I didn't want to take my doll into the office and risk the interaction

My marriage has suffered. We are nearing our 1 year anniversary and y'all....It's been a wild ride

But I know I'm not alone

A few days ago I locked into the morning news because they kept teasing about a story on COVID in pregnant women and even though I'm currently not pregnant I found myself completely drawn in... my heart lies with ANYONE who's given birth in the past 6 months or is planning to bring a life into the world in 2020

And yet my daughter has, without a doubt, been my biggest blessing (and I've lived such a blessed life). While COVID has kept us from receiving family & friends, while it's kept me from taking her out for any number of excursions, while it's kept me from being able to detached and spend an afternoon with my husband, blowing off steam....it's also kept me solely with her - soaking up these very so important moments of her first year

I have SOME wisdom to share because I felt the fear of birthing with COVID

And so it's from this space I've created my "Mama's Circle"...a free, virtual, monthly meet up via zoom for new mom's and mom's to be. Our first circle is next week - Thursday, July 9th at 7:30PM. Tag someone here who could use the support of sacred, virtual connection

About three months ago I taught this class...right before giving birth to my powerful girl. This was the week pretty much ALL of Atlanta shut down for COVID. What a strange time?!! We aren't out of the woods just yet but it's already interesting to look back and remember all the emotion and obstacles we've faced in the past few months. Hope you're taking GOOD CARE right now yogis
