Michael will be only the second person in the entire world to receive a bilateral lung and bone marrow transplant, which makes this benefit monumental. Duke University agreed to perform the procedure; the goal of Hearts& Arts is to raise sufficient funds enough to drastically decrease the cost of such a procedure. Creative and intimate, Hearts in Arts for SCID opened with and an artistically influenced fashion show like no other. Followed by a journey through the diversity of the arts from a wide range of artistically inclined people and groups. The venue was decorated with pieces from participating visual artists and featured vendors. Bringing the night to an end with a silent auction of the pieces created live during the show.
