It was a joyful and fulfilling evening being back at Choctaw County High School for Senior Night with a Lovett Scholarship donor, Mary Ford, presenting two of the 2026 Lovett Scholarship awards to Ashley Thurman and Janae McClendon (Nae Nae). We enjoyed spending time with each family too.

The Lovett Scholarship for 2026 closed on yesterday, February 28th.

What a joy and blessing - We received numerous amazing applications!

Thank you to the applicants for taking the time and having the courage and confidence to apply. No matter the outcome since only two people can be selected, you are all winners for your outstanding efforts.

The application review process commences shortly and then we move to interviewing the finalists.

Reminder that the Judge Willie J. Lovett, Jr. Scholarship Program will be issuing two (2) Lovett Scholarships for 2026 - one designated to a Senior at Choctaw County High School (Butler, Alabama) and one open to all Seniors attending a high school in Alabama or Georgia for twelve (12) continuous months prior to May 2026.

It's always joyous to spend time with Lovett Scholarship recipients and donors.

Choctaw County High School Class of 2026 - Congratulations on your class ranking! Always be confident in your abilities and never let anyone place limitations on you. Your hard work, faith and perseverance make things happen.
