Summer slide sounds like a fun waterslide that kids can play on in the summer. Unfortunately, it’s not. It’s the loss of academic skills over the summer months. Fortunately, there are many fun and easy ways to prevent summer slide. I am offering one on one online tutoring for kindergarten through sixth grade reading, writing, and math. This build a dinosaur activity is one of many building activities I have created. In this build a dinosaur activity, students work on decoding CVC words and choosing dinosaur parts to complete their dinosaur. These building activities can be used for any skill and any age. I also have a build a robot, build a teddy bear, and build a Lego guy activities that I will post soon.
It is my goal, as an educator, to make sure that all students learn to love learning. I use fun and interactive games that make learning fun!!

Summer is on it’s way. Summer is a great time for fun and relaxation. It’s also an important time for kids to continue learning so they avoid the “summer slide” and make sure they are ready for the new school year in the fall.
I am offering online summer tutoring for 1st through 5th grade reading, writing, English, and math. I plan customized lessons based on each individual child’s interests, strengths, and learning styles. I include fun games and movement activities to keep kids engaged and make learning fun. New online math activity. Click and drag the numbers to make each multiplication fact true. Only use each number once. This a great activity for students to practice multiplication as well as problem solving. Other times tables coming soon.

New reading comprehension online activity that can be used with any book. Students type or click and drag their answers to questions about a book they read. Good for 2nd through 5th grade.
New online sequence puzzles activity!! Put pictures in order from beginning to end. Then read a short paragraph and put 4 events in order. This is a great activity to help young readers with reading comprehension.

It’s been a rough year and a half for all of us. But it looks like most of us are almost at the end of it. Or at least the end of the worst of it. I haven’t posted in a while because, like many people, I’ve been trying to figure things out and stay afloat. Now that I have been tutoring online for over a year, and hopefully going back to some in person tutoring soon, I’m going to try to post more often. I am so happy that I have had the chance to do online tutoring. I have had so much fun and learned a lot. I have a few new online tutoring resources that I’d love to start sharing over the next few days and weeks. I am looking forward to starting in person tutoring again soon as well as continuing online tutoring.
