Last Wednesday, I had surgery to repair my broken and dislocated ankle. Kiersten withheld the X-rays from me until today because she “knew how I would react”. Now that I’ve seen it—and after the initial shock—all I can say is I’m grateful for modern medicine, insurance, and health care providers who manage life or death situations every day.

It’s gonna take some time before I fully accept that this hardware is INSIDE my body🤯.

Not gonna lie. I’ve shed a few tears over the past week and I have a renewed level of empathy for anyone that has lost mobility. Not being able to easily go to the bathroom, go grab a cookie or just stand up on two feet without excruciating pain has been tough. With that said—I fully understand why so many people slip into the grip of addiction because those pills work—temporarily.

So for now, I’m trying my best to stay positive, “let thy food be my medicine” and be patient on the long road to recovery. Thank you all for the positive messages, advice and reassurance.

The next few months will be rough. During my son’s baseball practice, I had an accident breaking three bones in my ankle and dislocating it. It was gruesome and Im still processing it all but I do know I’m super grateful for the community we’ve built over the last few years. They were there to hold my hand through the pain, give our son play dates and sleepovers while we focused on healing. And have dropped off recovery tools to help with the healing.

So let this be a reminder… find your people.

If you’re gonna spend the money on an expensive cutting board, you better know how to take care of it.

As AI continues to be adopted throughout corporate America, if you’ve found yourself trying to learn new tools in an effort to “catch up”…don’t do this 🫠.

The truth is—layoffs are layoffs🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♂️. Doesn’t matter if you put a scoop of AI on top. Whats more important is how you interpret and react to the job market.

After all these years of posting for free, finally made it official ⚡️🙏🏾

Julien will be joining the newly formed Aldi Finds department, where he’ll lead the Emotional Logistics team. His team will be overseeing cart return culture, quarter recovery, and those random Aldi finds that make you black out and come home with a fire pit.

Ultimately, this is about alignment ✨

Aldi has built something rare with a retail experience that respects people’s time, money, and ability to bag their own groceries without supervision. It may be a simple model, but it’s not a small thing.

As a loyal customer and former chef, I’m honored to contribute to a retail model built on trust, discipline, and the occasional household upgrade nobody saw coming.

Happy April Fools to everyone except , who should absolutely take this as a formal expression of our desire to work together on something cool. 😆⛹🏽⛹🏾‍♀️🏀
