Take a listen to my sweet friend as she shares her heart and her gifts with all of us.

“In the past, a lot of focus was put on being “color blind,” but now that we know better, we want our children to have “color-full” experiences, and this includes what they find on their bookshelves and reading lists. Classic literature tends to have a very Euro-centric attitude and we’ve often struggled with how to curate a more diverse reading library for our families that celebrates both the classics and diversity.”

A happy homeschool is anchored by your connected relationship with your kids.🌀What is connection? It’s the felt experience of knowing “I’ve got your back.” That feeling goes both ways. A toddler expresses admiration after you help him scale a fence. A nine-year-old appreciates the support you give during math and hugs you spontaneously. A 13 year old reveals a crush and you show tenderness instead of worry.

Connection is built
•through believing the best interpretation of each person’s actions,
•through respecting another’s boundaries without taking them as criticisms or abandonment,
•through empathy,
•through bringing joy to the one you love for no good reason but the happiness you feel in the other person’s delight.

This is why 5 year olds draw you pictures, and 15 year olds send you a text with a funny gif. This is why rubbing your son’s back before math or lying on the bed to read a story to a toddler feels like love.

When all else fails, connect.
