Halt Senate Bill 354 in Georgia: Protect Licensing Requirements for Barbers & Cosmetologists

Cosmetology and barbering are not just about cutting hair; they are science-based professions that require an understanding of the human body, chemical composition, disease prevention and infection control. By removing licensing requirements we risk endangering public health by potentially exposing clients to untrained practitioners who lack this crucial knowledge.

Senate Bill 354 undermines this professionalism by suggesting that anyone can perform these tasks without training or certification. This not only devalues our profession but also puts consumers at risk.

We urge you to join us in opposing Senate Bill 354. Let's protect our professionals' credibility and our consumers' safety by ensuring proper education remains a requirement for licensure within the cosmetology & barber industry.

What is the Weave Workshop: The “Weave Workshop” is a conference/ workshop set up for youth led by entrepreneur & professional hairstylist Tiffan’e Nicol and Kay Brown teaching life skills using the trade of hair weaving. Weaving is the platform Tiffan’e Nicol has chosen to stand on due to her 10 plus years in the beauty industry but the message and information given in this event will extend far pass just weaving.
