The Model UN short term class culminated in half of the students participating in the Woodward Model United Nations Conference. The opening speaker was Senator Sam Nunn, and students had the opportunity to have a Q & A with him. We had 13 delegates participate in the conference. Two students received recognition for their performance:
Luke Xu- Best Delegate for Crisis Committee
Kaiya Ciho- Best Delegate for Historical Committee

As part of their central subject on clothing, Kristen & Emily's class went through the design thinking process to prototype "weatherproof wearables" for some of our faculty and administrators.

Our Junior High Science Club made footprint molds to solve a CSI mystery. They were putting their forensic skills to the test.

7th Grade Pre-Algebra students are designing tiny homes. The photo below shows them making sure their appliances fit.

Michelle’s Pre-Algebra students took a trip to the farm for some hands-on math. With the help of Urban Agriculture Coordinator Emily Roberts and Farm Manager Erin Cescutti, students harvested sweet potatoes. The 7th grade mathematicians then collected data on the circumference, length, and height of the harvested vegetables. This data will be used in their classroom as they explore measures of central tendency.

Our Sustainability Coordinator, Korri, is working with a group of 4th graders to discover the many voices of nature. Their study began with making observations and journaling what they noticed, what they wondered, and what connections could be made.

To introduce the gamified portion of their philosophy class, Lou's students experienced a false reality narrative through VR.

Brooke and Mandi's class just completed a "Best Part of Me" writing project as part of their exploration of identities. After reading the book "The Best Part of Me," students identified things they love to do. They then thought about the parts of their bodies that allow them to do those things. These photos correspond to beautiful writing pieces by the students.

Our students aren't the only ones getting in on the fun of learning. Last week, some of the great elementary teachers who are new to Paideia worked cooperatively to solve a breakout box puzzle.
