Hi! My name is Duo-Wei Yang. Many of my close friends and family, however, call me DoDo. It isn't meant to be derogatory, but a reference to the characters in Chinese that means 'bean'. My family consists of me, my brother Jerry, and my parents.

I'm a rising but reluctant senior at Decatur High School. I'm pretty sure everyone else is feeling the same.

Hi! I'm Maguire Wilder. I go to Wesleyan School in Norcross, GA and am a rising junior. I'm an actress and choreographer. I write mostly poetry and short stories. Hi, I'm India Steward and I'm not even going to try to sound deep or funny. What I will do is tell you why you should come out and buy a copy of our literary magazine at the DecaturBookFestival; because it's not what you will expect, it's better. I have a short attention span and a skinny wallet so I wouldn't lie to you and waste your time or money. We aren't professional writers; that is what makes our material so raw(as a teenage pregnancy), bitting, and poignant. So come out and show some love. Here's a little update on the Optimist Review!
We are currently working on our cover design.
Our contributor's open house is a week from today, and we can't wait to meet the wonderful authors and artists that will be featured in the journal!
Also, we have been posting editor spotlights on Instagram () and Twitter ()! We'll be transferring those to this platform shortly!

The Optimist Review is a high school publishing program with The Wren's Nest. Our book will be launched at the Decatur Book Festival! Welcome!
