Great News for Georgia Homeschoolers:
GHEA is pleased to share that SB63 has been signed by Governor Kemp and is now Georgia law, effective July 1! This new law guarantees fair treatment to Georgia homeschoolers for testing access at their local public schools for tests including the PSAT, AP exams, and the ASVAB.
GHEA wishes to thank Governor Brian Kemp, Senator Clint Dixon, Representative Carmen Rice, Representative Noelle for Georgia Kahaian, Representative Scott Hilton, Senator Lee Anderson, Representative Matt Reeves for House, and Representative Charlice Byrd for their work in helping this bill become Georgia law! GHEA also thanks our friends at HSLDA and the passionate parent advocates with whom we had the pleasure of working alongside, as well as the Georgia homeschool community whose support was critical to the successful outcome.

GREAT NEWS!!! 🇺🇸
SB63 is officially headed for Governor Kemp's desk for signature! Once signed into law, this legislation will provide fair and equal access for homeschoolers to take exams such as the PSAT and AP Exams in local public schools.
On behalf of all Georgia homeschoolers, GHEA wants to offer a HUGE THANKS to Senator Clint Dixon, SB63 sponsor, for all of his hard work on this bill and for sending us this photo of today's final Senate vote! Special thanks also to our friends at HSLDA for their tremendous help, a well as other legislative friends including Representative Carmen Rice (carried SB63 in the House), Representative Scott Hilton, Representative Noelle for Georgia Kahaian, Representative Matt Reeves for House, Charlice Byrd, and Senator Lee Anderson, as well as the team of homeschool parent advocates who gave of their time and talents. Huge thanks to Senator Clint Dixon, SB 63 sponsor and Representative Carmen Rice, who carried the bill in the House, and to our friends at HSLDA for all of their support and assistance! Additional thanks to other legislative friends who have played key roles in this effort: Representative Noelle for Georgia Kahaian, Representative Scott Hilton, Senator Lee Anderson, Representative Matt Reeves for House, Representative Charlice Byrd.
Many thanks to each and every Georgia homeschooler and friend who reached out to their elected officials to let them know the importance of homeschoolers receiving fair and equal access to testing locations for standardized tests such as the PSAT and AP exams.

Legislative Update!
We are excited to share that SB63 passed the Georgia Senate unanimously yesterday afternoon! Huge thanks to Senator Clint Dixon, SB63 sponsor, for his hard work! Now, SB63 goes to the State House, where it will be assigned to the House Education Committee.
Please ask your state house representative to support SB63! And, thank your senator for their support of SB63!

Today, SB63 was presented by Senator Clint Dixon to the Senate Education & Youth Committee, where it was voted on and passed! Next step is the Senate Rules Committee!
