FSA Rocketry Team Greeted By Jorge Blanco

Yesterday, our Rocketry Team had the pleasure of hosting Mr. Jorge Blanco, President of Southern Area Rocketry. Mr. Blanco has been a valued mentor to our team, generously sharing his lifelong experience and passion for rocketry. It was wonderful to welcome him to our campus and introduce him to our new generation of rocketeers.

Our Elementary Robotics Club began last week, giving our youngest Mustangs the opportunity to dive into robotics, technology, engineering, and problem-solving from an early age!

At FSA, we believe students shouldn't have to wait until middle or high school to explore the technologies that shape our future. As they grow through our programs, students have opportunities to build on those early experiences through robotics competitions, advanced STEM courses, passion projects, and real-world problem solving. What starts with a curious elementary student building their first lego robot can grow into years of innovation, exploration, and discovery.

Last weekend’s New Parent Breakfast was a great success!

We enjoyed connecting with our families, answering their questions, and helping them learn more about our school community. Many thanks to MSO for organizing this wonderful event, and thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the morning so successful.

Classroom Spotlights: Week 2 Recap

PK explores a truly HANDS-on way to practice their letter writing.

AP Environmental Science: Students brought their summer adventures into the classroom through an Environmental Scavenger Hunt, documenting real-world examples of renewable energy, biodiversity, pollution, sustainability, and more before connecting their discoveries to key environmental science concepts.

Honors Sculpture: Just two weeks into the school year, students are already getting their hands dirty creating ceramic sculptures that will eventually become unique lamps!

ICARE Moments: It’s not just homeroom, it’s . We love seeing our students smiling, connecting, and building the welcoming community that makes FSA special.

This is what learning in action looks like at FSA!

Introducing our FSA High School Houses!

High school is about more than what happens inside the classroom. At FSA, it’s also about finding your people, building lasting connections, and becoming part of something bigger than yourself. Our High School House System brings every student and staff member together as part of one of four houses:

NOVA: Curiosity
VALOR: Integrity
HAVEN: Empathy
BEACON: Advocacy

Students join their house at the beginning of their high school journey and remain part of that community throughout all four years. Along the way, they build friendships, find mentors, support one another, and create memories that extend far beyond the school day. Throughout the year, houses compete in games, challenges, and school-wide events, earning points for everything from friendly competition to positive character, leadership, service, and school spirit. And, of course, every house has its eyes on the ultimate goal: becoming House Champion.

But the House System is about more than winning.

It is about creating a school culture where every student is known, valued, connected, and empowered to succeed. Each house represents one of FSA's ICARE values, and together, Nova, Valor, Haven, and Beacon help build a community grounded in Integrity, Curiosity, Advocacy, Resilience, and Empathy.
Four houses. Four identities. One FSA community.

Which house would you want to join? 👀

Classroom Spotlights

Week 2, and the theme is... creativity!

From scientific research to literary analysis to artistic expression, our students are jumping right into meaningful learning experiences:

Honors Biology students stepped into the shoes of professional biologists, choosing a specialty based on their curiosity and developing research pitches around a newly discovered organism living near a hydrothermal vent. Along the way, they practiced forming hypotheses, analyzing evidence, and collaborating across different fields of biology.

MS Art wasted no time getting creative in Ms. Walsh’s classroom. By Day 2, the artwork was already underway!

6th Grade ELA students are charting plot points, analyzing internal and external conflicts, and making connections to the protagonist in The Ravine. Their first collaborative activity of the year is already off to a great start!

Let’s see what the rest of this week has in store!
