Our media center has been beautifully renovated and designed. First-fifth grade students will visit the media center next week. Kindergarten students will visit after the book fair.

🍎 Celebrating our 2026-2027 Teachers of the Year ✨

Chapel Hill Elementary Teacher of the Year LaTonya Matthews has a genuine passion for teaching and strives to make learning an enjoyable and engaging experience for her students.

Over the past 22 years as an educator, she has had the privilege of educating children in second, third, and fourth grades, witnessing their growth and curiosity firsthand.

Matthews earned her bachelor's degree in early childhood education from the University of South Carolina - Aiken and her master's degree from American Intercontinental University.
She also holds a gifted endorsement.

Outside the classroom, she loves traveling with her family, watching movies, shopping, exercising, reading inspirational books and exploring new restaurants.

Most importantly, she cherishes the time she spends with her family — her greatest support and motivation.

We are thrilled to announce an exciting new partnership to keep our students inspired and reading all year long!
Chapel Hill Elementary has teamed up with Books-A-Million at Arbor Place Mall to host a special book donation drive dedicated entirely to stocking our school's beloved Book Vending Machine.
🗓️ Donation Drive Details
When: Sunday, July 19th through Sunday, August 16th
Where: Books A Million (located at the mall)
How to Help: Simply stop by the store, pick out some fantastic new books, and donate them to our drive!
Why Your Support Matters: Our Book Vending Machine is a wonderful way to reward students and make reading fun. Let’s work together to ensure our kids kick off the new school year with plenty of fresh stories and a community cheering them on!
