The Lead Teacher/Caregiver shall report directly to the Assistant Director concerning all classroom, curriculum, or material matters. Lead Teachers must have no less than a CDA Certificate, a Technical Certificate, or an AA Diploma in Early Childhood Development. Salary offered shall be comparable to individual’s level of education and training. The responsibilities for this position include, but may not be limited to the following:
1. Manage the classroom program.
2. Thoroughly and effective follow the lesson plan provided in the curriculum each month.
3. Supervises and guides each child’s development.
4. Provides feedback to assigned Aide with regards to classroom activities and each child’s development.
5. Positive communication with all parents and staff.
6. Works with Director and parents to solve any potential problems in the classroom concern behavior issues and/or academic challenges.
7. Conduct Quarterly Teacher/Parent conference meeting to discuss child’s progress and development.
8. Maintains appropriate records on each child.
9. Take daily attendance.
10. Provide daily head count to Cook of all meals served.
11. Follow posted classroom schedule at all times.
12. Maintain a clean and hazard free classroom at all times.
13. Participates in center events.
14. Assists in the training of other staff members.
15. Additional duties as assigned.
16. Maintain minimum 15 clock hours of continuing education training annually.
17. Follow COVID-19 Guidelines
As a Teacher/Caregiver in this facility, you are expected to maintain a positive and professional attitude and appearance at all times. Teamwork is important and you are expected to be a cooperative team member.
